Privacy Policy

DVC Companion ("we," "the app," "the site") is a small, independently run tool for Disney Vacation Club owners and renters. This page explains what information the app collects when you use its optional sign-in features, why, and how you can remove it. If you never sign in, the app collects nothing about you personally — the calendar, resort comparison, and every other tool work fully anonymously.

What we collect

Signing in is entirely optional and only unlocks account-specific features (saving contracts, trip history, itineraries, and reminder emails). If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive:

• Your email address and name, from Google, to identify your account.
• Whatever DVC contract, trip, and itinerary details you choose to enter yourself — resort, use year, points and balances, purchase price/date and any financing interest you estimate, recorded bookings and stays (including any Disney confirmation numbers you add), and saved trip plans.
• Your notification preferences (whether you've opted in to reminder emails, and how many days ahead you want them) and, if you enable browser push notifications, the push subscription your browser generates for that purpose.
• If you subscribe to the paid Contract Manager tier, a billing relationship record (subscription status, renewal date) is kept so the app knows your membership is active. We never see or store your card number — payment happens entirely on Stripe's own hosted checkout page.

Estimated availability on the calendar and Room Availability are answered by our server for the stay or dates you ask about. We don’t keep a record of what you look up, beyond standard request logs our hosting provider keeps for a short time for security and to limit abuse.

Why we collect it

Solely to run the features you've opted into: showing your own contracts and points back to you, filtering resort searches by what you can actually book, calculating your "House Money" value-delivered progress, sending the banking deadline, use-year expiration and Holding point reminders you've asked for, and processing your membership subscription if you've purchased one. None of this data is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for anything beyond making the tool work for you.

Who else sees it

A few service providers process data on our behalf, strictly to operate the app:

• Google — handles sign-in; we never see your Google password.
• Supabase — hosts the database, authentication, and backend functions this app runs on.
• Stripe — processes membership payments; handles all card data directly, PCI-compliant, never touches our servers.
• Resend — sends the reminder emails you opt into.
• GoatCounter — a privacy-focused analytics service we use for basic, anonymous page-view counts. It doesn't use cookies or track individual visitors across sites.

None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing the service to us.

Cookies and local storage

The app doesn't use tracking cookies. Your signed-in session token is kept in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so you stay signed in between visits. A handful of other local-storage/ session-storage entries exist purely for UI convenience (like remembering your last-viewed resort) and never leave your device.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and everything associated with it — contracts, trips, itineraries, preferences, and billing record — at any time from My Contracts. This is immediate and irreversible. If you'd rather we do it for you, or have any other question about your data, email privacy@dvccompanion.com.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
