200 Riviera DVC points, bought direct: an owner's story
DVC Owner Stories 003. A couple's first Disney trip together was a 2008 first anniversary at Caribbean Beach, and they didn't get back for ten years. Today they're a family of four with 200 Riviera points, bought direct in two contracts, and their home resort looks across the lake at the resort where it started. This is their story, in his words, with the numbers from his contracts and his Disney reservations.
Every Friday we share one owner's real story and plan. If you'd like yours featured, send us a message on Instagram.

- 200 Riviera points bought direct: 150 in 2024 at $217 a point ($32,550), then 50 more in 2025 ($9,424.68, financed).
- Buying direct came with a 150-point bonus, so they started with 300 points.
- Both contracts share an October use year and a deed to 2070, so they work as one 200-point pile.
- Short stays keep the points low: 15 points for a night at Old Key West, 220 for five nights in a Riviera one-bedroom.
- Direct pays for itself in about 8.3 years against Disney's prices, or 13.6 against renting points at $20.
