DVC banking deadlines for every use year

Every Disney Vacation Club use year has one banking deadline: the last day of the use year's 8th month. Bank your unused current-year points by then and they move into the next use year. Miss it and those points have to be used before the use year ends, or they're gone.

Here is the deadline for all eight use years, what happens to your points either way, and the rules worth knowing before you bank.

The short version

  • Bank by the last day of month 8 of your use year: March use year by Oct 31, April by Nov 30, December by Jul 31.
  • Banked points move into the next use year and last until it ends: one more year.
  • Unbanked points must be used for a stay that checks in before the use year ends. Booking by then isn't enough.
  • Only current-year points can be banked, and banking can't be undone.
Table of all 8 DVC use years with each banking deadline and the date unbanked points end.

Every use year's banking deadline

The deadline is the same calendar date every year. Unbanked points end the day before your next deposit.

  • February use year: bank by Sep 30. Unbanked points end Jan 31.
  • March: bank by Oct 31. Unbanked points end Feb 28 (Feb 29 in a leap year).
  • April: bank by Nov 30. Unbanked points end Mar 31.
  • June: bank by Jan 31. Unbanked points end May 31.
  • August: bank by Mar 31. Unbanked points end Jul 31.
  • September: bank by Apr 30. Unbanked points end Aug 31.
  • October: bank by May 31. Unbanked points end Sep 30.
  • December: bank by Jul 31. Unbanked points end Nov 30.

An example, the March use year that began Mar 1, 2026: bank by Oct 31, 2026. Banked, those points are good until Feb 29, 2028. Not banked, they need a stay that checks in by Feb 28, 2027.

Five DVC banking rules: only current-year points, banking is final, Holding points can't be banked, canceled after the deadline, borrowing is final.

The rules that catch owners out

  • Only current-year points. Points you already banked in, or borrowed from next year, can't be banked or moved again.
  • Banking is final. You can't undo it or move the points back, even if a trip comes up later in the year.
  • Holding points can't be banked. A stay modified or canceled 1–30 days before check-in sends its points to Holding. They end with their use year and can only book stays within 60 days of check-in.
  • Canceling after the deadline. Cancel a stay 31 or more days out and its points go back to the use year they came from. If that use year's banking deadline has passed, they can't be banked anymore, so book stays late in a use year with that in mind.
  • Borrowing is final too. Borrowing brings next year's points forward, up to a full year's allotment, and they can't go back.

If you're not sure you'll use this year's points, bank them before the deadline rather than counting on a trip that might not happen.
